Sudoku Guru (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a Sudoku puzzle game. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices. By using Sudoku Guru, you agree to this policy.
Sudoku Guru saves game progress, statistics, and settings locally on your device using secure on-device storage. This includes puzzle state, difficulty preferences, dark mode, and similar gameplay options. Tournament play also stores an anonymous player identifier and your chosen display name on your device so you can rejoin leaderboards.
If you join the Daily Tournament, we send your anonymous player ID, display name, completion time, mistake count, hint usage, and puzzle result to our backend so we can show leaderboards. No account or email is required for classic play. Core Sudoku gameplay works fully offline.
Free users may see ads. On mobile apps, ads are served by Google AdMob. On the Sudoku Guru website, ads may be served by Google AdSense. These partners may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to deliver and measure ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device or browser settings. Ad-free purchasers and Sudoku Guru Plus subscribers do not see ads.
Sudoku Guru Plus subscriptions on mobile are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases and unlock premium features such as ad-free play and unlimited hints. We receive purchase status and anonymous subscription identifiers—not your full payment card details.
On the Sudoku Guru website, you may buy a one-time “Remove Ads” upgrade through Stripe Checkout. Stripe processes payment; we receive confirmation of purchase, an anonymous player identifier, and transaction metadata—not your full payment card details. This unlocks ad-free play and premium web features permanently for that player profile.
We do not require an account for standard play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not sell your personal information.
On-device data remains until you uninstall the app or clear app storage. Tournament leaderboard entries may be retained on our servers for the duration of each tournament and reasonable archival periods.
You can clear local data by uninstalling the app. You can manage mobile subscriptions through your App Store or Play Store account. On the web, you can restore a Remove Ads purchase from Settings or the Remove Ads page. You can restore mobile purchases from the Sudoku Guru Plus screen in Settings.
